HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Learners will understand how to respond to an emergency situation, perform CPR and then communicate the details of the incident to relevant personnel.

This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This course is designed to meet the requirements from the HLT Health training package. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

HLTAID004 – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

To acquire skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

This first aid course is suitable for child care workers, teachers and parents. It will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty in a range of situations for adults and children in an education and care setting. In particular, the unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has endorsed HLTAID004 as satisfying all educator requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma training, as outlined by National Regulations.

HLTAID003 – Provide first aid

Learners will understand how to respond to an emergency situation, apply first aid procedures and communicate the details of an incident to relevant personnel. Additionally, you will also recognise the need to evaluate the incident and your own performance.

This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid and is designed to meet the requirements from the HLT Health training package. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
